Treasure hunting DVD sales soar amid economic recession.

As people look for an extra source of income during these troubled economic times, sales of the popular metal detecting DVD, "Diggin It" has heated up.

WILLOW, AK, November 19, 2008 /Hobby and Crafts PR News/ -- A similar situation played out only on a much larger scale during the great depression. Individuals in desperate need of money went searching for gold.

"Unlike the depression, I think it's a combination of people looking for a little extra pocket change as well as a way to enjoy a little outdoor recreation without having to drive too far", says Brian Priebe, producer and host of the celebrated DVD.

While Mr. Priebe agrees you are probably not going to get rich searching for treasure, the possibility always exists. "It's a lot like playing the slot machines in Las Vegas", says Priebe. "The odds are stacked against you, but there is always the chance of hitting the big one. It's also very addicting as well as a lot of fun."

The DVD contains a bonanza of tips on hunting in and around old houses, schools, town halls, churches, fairgrounds, train stations, stage stops, wharfs, swimming holes, beaches, ball fields, gardens, ghost towns, campgrounds, trails, parks, trees, sledding and skiing hills, bridges, water towers, hard rock tailings, dredge tailings, construction sites and more. There are invaluable lessons on conducting research to find more treasures, including coins, medallions, tokens, tags, charms, jewelry, meteorites, gold nuggets, relics, and caches. There are innovative ideas on shallow water hunting and night hunting. Hunting in the rain, where you'll even learn to build a rain jacket for your detector and winter hunts, when cabin fever sets in. That's not all; you'll learn how the detector was invented, what makes it tick and accessories, supplies and tools to use. A fun filled Alaskan adventure, where we explore an old World War II ghost town. Eighty minutes of high quality fun and educational digital footage with an uplifting, patriotic soundtrack and great commentary. The video is available on DVD or can be downloaded at the website, http://www.treasurehuntingdvds.com.

"If nothing else", continues Priebe. "It's a great way to get some exercise and you can almost always walk away with some change and maybe a ring or two at the end of the day."
